The Blue Kimono

The Blue Kimono is a passion project founded by Zoe Stevenson, an esteemed eco-warrior and the original founder of Retykle in Hong Kong. Born in Japan, Zoe cherishes fond memories of her childhood there, particularly the cosy moments spent wrapped in her mother’s blue kimono at home. During a trip to Jaipur, she discovered a supplier capable of creating similar kimonos and felt inspired to share that sense of homeliness and comfort with the world in a beautiful and sustainable manner. Thus, The Blue Kimono, featuring ethically made, reversible kimonos, was born.

Zoe carefully selects exquisite off-cut fabrics to reduce waste, resulting in limited-edition pieces that are sure to fly off the shelves upon launch. For the logo, we designed a Japanese crane, inspired by traditional Japanese indigo screen prints, as a nod to her original inspiration. We chose a font that complements the design beautifully, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the brand.
