Anastasia is a remarkable and inspiring doula based in Koh Samui, who sought assistance in designing her company’s branding upon officially qualifying. She drew inspiration from the legacy and symbolism of Celtic Dara Knots, which represent the umbilical connection between mothers and their babies, as well as the bond with the doula who supports this relationship. Her slogan, “Every woman deserves a doula,” emphasises her commitment to caring for all her clients and her admiration for the strength of women and their experiences.
We aimed for the logo to reflect the strength of her clients during a time when they are both powerful and vulnerable, while also showcasing the unwavering support she provides. The font we chose offers a mystical, historical touch, honouring the timelessness of the doula profession; despite modern advancements, the birthing process remains rooted in the experiences of our forebears.
The colour palette was warm and earthy, symbolising the bond between a new mother and her baby, as well as the strength of the human body. We selected a calm soft grey as the main tone, as Anastasia wished to highlight the resilience and toughness of women rather than opting for something overly soft or delicate.
We created a range of illustrations depicting doulas with their clients and mothers with their babies. Ultimately, Anastasia chose one that captures calmness and alignment, featuring the doula supporting a woman in the lotus position. The result is a powerful yet serene brand that embodies the remarkable woman Anastasia is and the unique care she offers to the clients she so deeply respects and admires.
